The Geography of Isolation
Barangay Puray is one of the most remote frontiers in Rizal. Tucked into a rugged, mountainous landscape where 83% of the terrain is upland and steep, the geography itself is a barrier to survival.For families in the mountain interior, the 16km journey to the nearest hospital is a grueling trek where paved roads often transition into rugged trails that become impassable during the rainy season.While there is a local health center, it currently operates with no assigned doctor for the entire region. For the Indigenous Dumagat tribe and families living deep in the mountains, reaching even this basic center requires navigating tens of kilometers of steep hills and unpaved terrain.
Serving the Underserved
Through our House-to-House (H2H) interview process and in close partnership with the local Barangay Health Workers, we identify the specific mothers and infants in Puray who lack access to the healthcare system. Our mission is dedicated strictly to maternal and infant care, addressing the critical gaps in prenatal support and early childhood nutrition caused by geographic isolation and the absence of specialized medical staff.Our upcoming pilot has identified 35 high-risk individuals in the mountain interior who are in need of support:10 Pregnant Mothers: These women are facing high-risk pregnancies with no regular prenatal checkups. Because of the 16km distance and rugged terrain, there is a severe risk they will be unable to reach the health center in time for delivery. We provide the essential vitamins, iron, and education needed when professional help is hours away.25 Children (Under 3): Based on local reports, there are at least 25 children in this cluster who are dangerously thin or small for their age. Many are facing the immediate threat of stunting and chronic malnutrition.

Our goal is to raise ₱42, 000 ($700 approx.) by May 25th, 2026 to provide targeted medical support for 35 high-risk individuals in the mountains of Puray.₱1000 ($16) | Child Nutrition Kit (x25): A specialized supply of Zinc, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), and pediatric multivitamins for a child under 3.₱1,700 ($30) | Safe Pregnancy Kit (x10): A comprehensive supply of prenatal iron, folic acid, and essential hygiene tools for a high-risk pregnancy.
